Mammoth Forums

Town hall-style discussions designed to engage audiences in dynamic, personal dialogue about the issues explored in the play. Each forum features a small panel of special guests from organizations working to break cycles of violence, poverty, and injustice in our city. Audiences can attend one of the Saturday matinee performances listed below and stay for the Mammoth Forum, or come that afternoon just for the Forum. Duration: one hour.

 

Learn ASL Through Stage Reading: Oedipus el Rey

Wednesdays, February 16 – March 16, 2011
7pm – 9:30pm
Fee: $150

An unconventional approach to learning American Sign Language (ASL), using an unconventional adaptation of a classic play. Taught by local theatre artist and sign master Monique Holt, this highly participatory instructional language course will be based around concepts and vocabulary used in the theatre world and incorporate cuttings from the script of Luis Alfaro’s Oedipus el Rey. The class fee includes a ticket to see Woolly Mammoth’s production of Oedipus el Rey. Questions?
