Welcome to the newly revised website of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA), the most up-to-date way of conversing with dramaturgs, theatre artists and administrators, our colleagues in other art forms, government officials, educators and ethnologists, historians, and many others.

For detailed information about LMDA, please visit our 'Who We Are' page. LMDA operates a number of innovative programs to support dramaturgy in North America. Visit 'Sponsored Programs' for details. Our bi-annual journal, Review, contains comprehensive articles about current practice and LMDA activities. Students and Interns are welcome to participate in all our programs. Canadians should visit 'LMDA Canada' for details of events and newsletters of interest to their environment.

We offer regional events and activities across North America and a network of regional representatives to connect you with your colleagues in the U.S. and Canada. Our Annual Conference provides an intense and entertaining opportunity to meet with LMDA members, theatre artists and educators. The next conference will be held in San Diego, June 26-29, 2008.

Please consider joining LMDA – membership fees are reasonable and you'll become a member of a growing community of dramaturgs and literary managers devoted to the art of making theatre.

-- Brian Quirt, LMDA President
