Biography
Russell M. Dembin (he/him) is a dramaturg, editor, writer, educator, theatermaker, nonprofit administrator, and scholar whose work is grounded in anti-racism; anti-oppression; accessibility; and diversity, equity, and inclusion. He has held a number of editorial positions, most recently serving as managing editor of American Theatre magazine and AmericanTheatre.org, and he is a book copy editor and proofreader, a Co-VP of Anti-Oppression for LMDA and a co-chair of LMDA's Anti-Oppression Task Force, and a steering committee member of the American Theatre Archive Project. Favorite dramaturgy credits include the Texas premieres of All the Way and The Great Society at Austin's ZACH Theatre; the Drama Desk-nominated world premiere of Underground and the U.S. debut of GBS, both produced by the Clockwork Theatre in New York City; and shows at Park Playhouse in Albany, New York.
