Matt DiCintio is a Ph.D. candidate at work on his dissertation about popular entertainments in early America. He holds an M.A. in Romance Languages from the University of North Carolina and an M.F.A. in Theatre Pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University. His publications include the Journal of Dramatic Theory and Criticism, Theatre Symposium, Routledge Companion to Dramaturgy, Columbia Encyclopedia of Modern Drama, Tennessee Williams Annual Review, and American Theatre, where he was an affiliated writer. As a dramaturg, Matt has worked at The Guthrie, PlayMakers Repertory, The Playwrights' Center, Virginia Repertory, The History Theatre, Park Square Theatre, and Richmond Triangle Players. His plays have been seen Off Off Broadway and around the country. His translation of Oscar Wilde’s Salome premiered at PlayMakers Rep, and his adaptation of A Confederacy of Dunces was seen at the University of Richmond. From 2004-2009 he served as founding producing director of Emigrant Theater (Minneapolis).
