LMDA Twitter Project

The LMDA Twitter Project travels to the heart of Russia with 2010 Elliot Hayes Award Winner Robyn Quick. Robyn, who is currently in Russia as a Fulbright Senior Scholar, will share her experiences as a dramaturg, teacher and cultural explorer.

Nov 14 - Nov 20: Ellen Joffred 

Focus: “A week in the life of one MFA Dramaturgy candidate at Columbia.”

Bio: Ellen Joffred is a theatre artist born and raised in Berks County, PA.  Currently based in NYC, she is a third year Dramaturgy MFA candidate at Columbia University.  Her interests include investigating theatricality, the beauty and futility of language, cross-cultural collaborations, mash-ups, and theatre transcending language.   www.EllenJoffred.com

Nov 7- Nov 13: Toby Malone 

Focus: " I currently have several projects under development; in late November I am coordinating The Word Festival, a multi-disciplinary event based around the 1611 publication of Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' and the King James Bible, so I will be speaking to many of the festival's projects, including a world premiere staged reading of the popular 'Kill Shakespeare' graphic novels. Soulpepper also recently announced its 2012 season, and I will check in on my department's research for the coming year."

Bio: Toby Malone is Resident Dramaturg, Literary Manager, and Associate Artist at Toronto's Soulpepper Theatre Company, North America's only year-round classical repertory company.  He divides his time between classical production dramaturgy and the establishment of a New Play Development unit at Soulpepper.  Toby attended the University of Western Australia, Queen's University at Kingston, and completed a PhD at the University of Toronto.  Toby is Australian, but rest assured he tweets in a Canadian accent.

Oct 31-Nov 6: Jeremy Fiebig

Focus: " I'm currently working on a production of  A Midsummer's Night Dream and am planning for a production of As You Like It. I'll be tweeting about these projects and about educational dramaturgy -- preparing undergraduate actors and university/college communities for plays."

Bio: Jeremy Fiebig is Assistant Professor of Theatre & Directing at Fayetteville State University and a graduate of the Mary Baldwin College/American Shakespeare Center program in Shakespeare & Renaissance Literature in Performance and William Jewell College.  A director, dramaturg, and sometime designer, he balances a generalist focus with a strong interest in Shakespeare's early modern staging practices and audience studies.

Oct 24-Oct 30: Bree Windham

Focus: "I will be focusing on some of my favorite projects since being at Florida Studio Theatre. One is a new play workshop that I have been dramaturging with playwright Mark Brown on his latest project, The Quest for Don Quixote. The second is a study guide for our Write a Play program’s production of Jack and the Enchanted Beanstalk. I am also working with our education department to develop a children’s piece centered on Hiroshima in 1945."

Bio: Bree Windham is currently a literary intern at Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota, Florida. She graduated in May from Auburn University with a degree in Theatre and a focus in Dramaturgy.
