DEBRA CARDONA-DEPEAHUL is a dramaturg and actor. She a has been Production Dramaturg for The Classical Theatre of Harlem since 2003, working on such plays as Melvin Van Peebles’ AIN'T SUPPOSED TO DIE A NATURAL DEATH, Peter Weiss’s MARAT/SADE, and a post-Katrina treatment of Samuel Beckett’s WAITING FOR GODOT, and was also dramaturg for ANTIGONE PROJECT at Women’s Project, five short plays on the Antigone theme from five female playwrights, including Lynn Nottage and Caridad Svich, as well as THE FURIES, part of the 2010 MFA Playwrights' Workshop at the Kennedy Center. She has served on the grants panel for the TCG/NEA Theatre Residency Program for Playwrights and the Reading Committees for the New Harmony Project and the Source Festival. Most recently, she was in the national touring company of MARY POPPINS. Now back in New York, she is administrator for Classical Theatre of Harlem's Playwright's Playground, a forum to enable writers to hear readings of sections of their works in progress. Debra is on the Board of LMDA.
