Biography:

Lee Trull is a director and writer living in Dallas, TX. His work has been seen at Dallas Theater Center, Kitchen Dog Theater, Second Thought Theatre, Classical Acting Company, Stage West, Dallas Comedy House, Hollywood Fringe Festival, University of Oklahoma, Southern Methodist University and Hardin Simmons University. He is the co-writer of the play Deferred Action which premiered in Spring of 2016 at Dallas Theater Center. He is the director and writer of Wilde/Earnest based on the Importance of Being Earnest at Kitchen Dog Theater. Recent directing credits include Feathers and Teeth by Charise Castro Smith, I’m Gonna Pray for You So Hard and the world-premier of Barbecue Apocalypse by Matt Lyle all at Kitchen Dog Theater. He is currently developing King McLintock based on the John Wayne movie McLintock! for Second Thought Theatre. He has consulted for the new musical Indian Joe at Godspeed Opera House, the National Alliance of Musical Theater Festival, the Colorado New Play Summit, and the web series Submissions Only. His day job is producing and developing new plays and musicals as director of new play development at Dallas Theater Center where he's produced world premier works by Samuel D. Hunter, Will Power, Kim Rosenstock, Rajiv Joseph, Kirsten Childs, Regina Taylor, Michael Friedman, Itamar Moses and many more. Lee was named Best Director by D Magazine and Best Local Playwright by Dallas Observer. He was a recipient of the NEA Artworks Grant. He is an active member of Kitchen Dog Theater's artistic ensemble and a former member of DTC's Brierley Resident Acting Company.
