When Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA) was established in 1985, our mission was to create a North American network to affirm the role of dramaturg,   to expand the possibilities of the field to other media and institutions, and to cultivate, develop and promote the function of dramaturgy and literary management. As an organization comprised of dramaturgs, literary managers and other like-minded artists, we remain true to that initial mission.
