Biography
DeRon S. Williams, PhD, is a director, scholar, and dramaturg who has published with "Continuum: The Journal of African Diaspora Drama" and "The Journal of American Drama and Theatre." His forthcoming scholarship includes an edited collection of essays titled "Acts of Rebellion, Activism, and Solidarity in Contemporary Black Theatre and Performance." DeRon has directed both new and canonical works, including Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris, Crowns by Regina Taylor, and The Brothers Size by Tarell Avin McCraney. Currently, he is the dramaturg for "Cultivating Dignity," a new play development project that centers around the work and labor in the Connecticut tobacco fields and their connection to Historically Black College and University students.
