Biography
Noah Ezell is a new play dramaturg, administrator, and Beth Blickers' assistant at the Agency for the Performing Arts. In the past, Noah has worked as a literary fellow and writer assistant at the Vineyard and the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center and accepted a literary internship at Williamstown Theatre Festival (rescinded due to COVID-19). In 2019, they were awarded the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival/Eugene O'Neill Theater Center Literary Fellowship for their work on Marisol by José Rivera. In 2020, Noah was awarded the Kennedy Center Undergraduate Theatre Scholar Award for their senior thesis "Metamodernism of the Oppressed." Noah's new play dramaturgy and script consultation credits include plays by Adam Elsayigh, Lily Gonzales, Josiah Thomas-Turner, Maddie Dennis-Yates, and Abraham Johnson. Noah is the dramaturg on Gage Tarlton's piece "Exercise Your Demons," which was selected for development at Victory Gardens' Ignition New Play Program. Noah has been a script assistant for new works by Dave Harris, Georgina Escobar, Nick Malakhow, Lauren Gunderson, and Anna Ziegler. Their production dramaturgy credits include plays by José Rivera, Donnetta Lavinia Grays, Bess Wohl, and others. Noah has been a script reader for institutions such as the Vineyard, Playwrights Horizons, Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Playwrights Realm, Bay Area Playwrights Festival, the Kennedy Center, and more. They have assisted dramaturgs such as John Baker, Lexy Leuszler, Allison Horsley and Kristin Leahey and worked as a research assistant on a new work by Jacqueline Goldfinger. They also previously served as Hansol Jung's assistant. Noah graduated Summa Cum Laude from the College of Charleston with a B.A. in Theatre Studies and a minor in Religious Studies.
