Rocío is a Salvadoran-American dramaturg, theatre artist, educator, and arts administrator based in New York City. As a theatre artist, Rocío is inspired and guided by work grounded in justice and community. Rocío holds a BFA in Theatre Education and Performance from Emerson College with a minor in Sociology. While at Emerson, Rocío was an ArtsEmerson Cutler Fellow, a year-long program designed to nurture emerging theatre producers. Soon after graduating, they decided to take a well-deserved break, and returned home to Portland, Maine. After a year of rest and exploration, Rocío returned to theatre and spent her summer in Western Massachusetts at Williamstown Theatre Festival as a Development Assistant. Currently they are a supporting artist at People’s Theatre Project in Washington Heights and a Development Associate at Latiné MT Lab.
