Review publishes essays and peer-reviewed articles, along with manifestoes, interviews, reviews, the occasional play, and other writing of interest to LMDA members.

LMDA offers a stipend for a dramaturgical residency within a theater project, program and/or community that seeks an on-site dramaturgical presence but is unable to fund a dramaturg at this time. LMDA member dramaturgs are encouraged to approach theaters and introduce a dramaturgical role and relationship that would become part of an event within the upcoming season.

Playwrights Foundation (PF), a center for new play development in San Francisco, is seeking diverse and discerning individuals to join the National Readers Circle for the 39^th Annual Bay Area Playwrights Festival (BAPF). PF is part of an extensive creative community nationwide, and has a strong presence in the Bay Area theater scene. The BAPF is a yearly summer festival of the country’s most compelling, competitive, and diverse new plays in development.

The Philly metro region of LMDA will be hosting a Happy Hour on Nov. 2, from 5:30 to 7pm, at Perch Pub (1345 Locust Street).

LMDA has graciously agreed to sponsor the event. The first 10 people to arrive will get their first drink free. There will also be a selection of free bar snacks.

Dramaturg Driven Grant applications are due Friday, October 9th! Don't miss this chance to fund your dramaturgy dream!

Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas offers seed money to support projects conceived, spearheaded, and/or orchestrated by LMDA member dramaturgs. This $1000 grant is designed to support unique and innovative projects that are 'driven' by dramaturgs. Past projects have come from across the theatrical and academic spectrum but are united by the driving force of a dramaturg to make the project happen.

The deadline to apply for the second round of the Bly Creative Capcity Grant is tomorrow, September 15th. We encourage all interested parties to click here for the application guidelines.

At its 30^th Anniversary Conference in New York City, NY, the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas presented the G. E. Lessing Award for Career Achievement to Morgan Jenness. The Lessing Award is LMDA’s most prestigious award, given for lifetime achievement in the field of dramaturgy. Jenness is only the 6^th recipient of the award in LMDA’s 30-year history.

At its 30^th Anniversary Conference in New York City, NY, the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas presented the Elliott Hayes Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dramaturgy to Nakissa C. Etemad.
